Postgraduate Studies Committee

 is composed of one (1) member of the Teaching and Research Staff from each University School, one (1) member from the categories of Special Educational Staff , Laboratory Teaching Staff , and Special Technical Laboratory Staff, and the Vice-Rector responsible for academic matters, who serves as the President. All the Committee members have hands-on experience in organizing and teaching in masters’ degree programs.

The Committee’s responsibilities include the following:
α) provide recommendations to the Senate  
regarding the establishment of new postgraduate programs or the modification of the existing ones. These recommendations are based on the evaluation of the proposals submitted by the Schools’ Assemblies, the accompanying feasibility and sustainability reports, and the detailed costing of the programs’ operation. The Committee also also reserves the right to refer proposals back for revisiον if the justification is insufficient or the accompanying documentation is incomplete,
β) drafting Regulation for  postgraduate studies and submitting it to the Senate for approval,
γ) drafting Regulation for masters’ degree programs,
δ) monitoring compliance with the Regulations of masters’ degree programs,
ε) ensuring that masters’ degree programs comply with relevant laws, regulation, and administrative decisions,
στ) supervising the application of the process for exemptions from the obligation to pay tuition fees,
ζ) κάθε άλλη αρμοδιότητα που ορίζεται από τον Εσωτερικό Κανονισμό.
η) Με απόφαση της Συγκλήτου, κατόπιν εισήγησης
της Επιτροπής Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών, εγκρίνεται ο
κανονισμός προγραμμάτων μεταπτυχιακών και διδακτορικών σπουδών, ο οποίος αποτελεί διακριτό κεφάλαιο του εσωτερικού κανονισμού λειτουργίας του Α.Ε.Ι.
